Zada L. Massey

FARMINGTON Zada L. (Valeck) Massey, formerly of Farmington, entered into eternal rest at Country Meadows in Park Hills on May 1, 2021 at the age of 92. She was born on February 2, 1929 in Potosi, Missouri to the late Theodore and Josephine (DeGonia) Valeck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Miford "Mac" Massey, her son, Gerald "Jerry" Linn Counts, her three brothers, Joe Valeck, George Valeck and Kenneth Valeck, her sister, Lena Shelton, a sister in infancy, and her great grandson, Charles "Chuckie" Pritchet. Zada is survived by her daughter, Virginia (Stanley) King, two granddaughters, Natalie McClintock and Gina Linn Johnson, two great grandsons, Bradley Mahurin and Jared Sumpter, two great great grandchildren, three stepchildren, Randy Massey, Greg Massey and Teresa (Randy) Coin, many step grandchildren, her special sister in law, Gloria Shaw of Farmington, nieces and nephews, Kenny, Paula and Terri, along with many friends. Zada was a born again Christian who was very proud of her walk with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She was a member of the First Church of God in Desloge and was very open with everyone she met about her salvation. She was also very proud of her work with the Shared Blessings Women's Shelter. She was instrumental in seeking donations for two years, 2007 and 2008, and collected over $8000.00 over that time. She was loved by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 11:00am until time of service at 1:00pm at Cozean Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Dan Hartley. Interment to follow at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Farmington.
