Willis Alfred Al Walton passed away December 26, 2008, at Parkland Hospital at the age of 83 years. He was born on November 19, 1925, at Kennett, son of the late Willis and Lucille (Tolbert) Walton. He was also preceded in death by a step-son Robert Koon. Before his retirement, Mr. Walton was employed as a truck driver. During World War II he served his nation as a member of the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and the American Legion Post 416 at Farmington. He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Boone) Walton, four children, Judith Walton of North Glenn, CO, Terry and wife Deborah Walton of Los Angeles, Larry and wife Donna Walton of Pacific, and Michael and wife Sue Walton of Loveland, CO. Also surviving are three step-children, Becky and husband, David Cole of DeVille, LA, Janice Cowsert of St. Clair, and Larry Koon of Wentzville, 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 28. American Legion services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Monday, followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
