Willie 'Jeannie' Jean Banks

FARMINGTON Willie "Jeannie" Jean Banks of Farmington passed away on December 14, 2022 at Parkland Hospital at the age of 77. She was born March 11, 1945 at Risco, Missouri to the late Raymon John Huckelbery and Willie Ruth (Mustain) Huckelbery. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Renee Thompson and a sister, Judy Mae Huckelbery Wakefield. Willie grew up in Missouri and Mississippi and after high school went on to school at Arkansas A & M in Monticello. She married her high school sweetheart, Garlon Banks in March of 1966 in Greenville, Mississippi. She was a devoted mother and wife and was very active in the DAR, the Eastern Star, Colonial Dames and Historical Society. She was a history buff at heart and a faithful Southern Baptist and had sung in choirs in places she had lived. Her love of antiquing and genealogy took Jeannie and Garlon on many driving excursions. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Garlon; two sons, David (Kathy) Banks of Lake Orion, Michigan and James (Mary) Banks of Valley Park, Missouri and six grandchildren, David, Michael, Valerie, William, Kimberly and Alexandria; and a sister, Linda K. (Harold) Grauman of Russellville, Arkansas. There will be a funeral service on Friday, December 16, 2022 beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with David Parmley officiating.
