William Thomure

William Thomas Thomure of Farmington passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at the age of 80 years. He was born on May 3, 1934, at Bonne Terre , son of the late Joseph Bernard and Clara Theresa (Reich) Thomure. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary L. (Ratcliff) Thomure in 2008; two brothers, Leon and Crawford Thomure; one sister, Marjorie Thomure; three great-granddaughters, Kamryn Thomure, Olivia Jones and Zoey Asher; and three very special brothers-in-law, Richard Leroy Ratcliff, John Vernon Ratcliff and Charles David "Chuck" Ratcliff. "Bill" as most knew him had been a life long resident of the area, having worked as a truck driver for most of his adult life. He also enjoyed farming on his 88 acre farm. In his spare time he was an avid hunter and fisherman as well as a dedicated Cardinal baseball fan. His family was his pride and joy and he always looked forward to spending time with his children and grand-children. Survivors include his children, Diane Shirley, Alan (Christy) Thomure, Dana (Dooley) Nausley, Mary Beth Ketcherside, Melinda (Scott) Thomure and Paula Chadwell; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma "Nor" Carroll; a brother, Anthony Ray (Jane) Thomure; one very special sister-in-law, Josephine "Jody" Ratcliff; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many good friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, September 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by the service at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Father Rickey Valleroy officiating.
