William Tackett

William Ray Tackett of Farmington passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the age of 49. He was born on April 14, 1965, at Springfield, OH, son of the late Windle Pearl Tackett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Brandon Tackett and a daughter, Lacey Tackett. "Billy Ray", as most knew him, grew up in Ohio and Kentucky where he attended school. After his schooling he became a farmer going to work at produce farms in central Ohio. He worked in many aspects of the farming profession throughout his life. Billy Ray will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor and his contagious smile. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, gardening and walking. Watching old western movies was a favorite pastime. An avid fan of listening to old-style country music and blues, he also was known to cut a rug. He was foremost a family man and ultimately enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his son, Austin (Angie) Tackett, daughters, Tabitha Tackett and Brittany Johnson; five grandchildren, Buddy, Brandon, Sydney, Colton and Gabby; three sisters, Noreen Pegg, Sherry "Lucy" Tackett and Connie Tackett; a brother, Windle Tackett; and the mother of his children, Rebecca Welter; his mother, Sarah Tackett and many other extended family and friends.
