DOE RUN- William "Billy" Gene Brackett of Doe Run passed away on January 20, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family at the age of 67. He was born on August 8, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Charles James and Flora (Quinton) Brackett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Susie (the late Tommy) Cowley, June Parker, Betty Hart, Christine Brackett and Wilma Crump. Billy is survived by his daughter, Heather (RJ Napoli) Brackett of Doe Run, his grandchildren, Christina Brackett, Jonathan Courtney, Dakota Napoli, Payton Napoli, and Evan Voyles, his great grandson, Koy Ketcherside, his siblings, Sharon Brackett of Fredericktown, Terry (Bob) Johnson of Doe Run, Brenda (John) Fuller of Madison, MS, Janean Hynes of Mobile, AL, Rhonda Brackett Hastings of Mobile, AL, Bobby (Cindy) Brackett of Bigelow, AR, Ricky (Cindy) Snider of Mobile, AL, and Jimmy Brackett of Georgia, his special friend, Vicki Jennings, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Billy formerly worked at St. Francois Manor as a CNA for many years. He was a former volunteer fireman for Wolf Creek and was currently at Doe Run where he was passionate about his line of work. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide and Dallas Cowboys fan. He had an awesome sense of humor, was witty and was quite a jokester. Billy loved to dance but most of all loved his family especially his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 1:00pm until time of service at 4:00pm at Cozean Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Dean Berry. Masks are required if attending the visitation and/or service and please adhere to social distancing.
