William 'Bill' L. Baker

FARMINGTON William "Bill" L. Baker, of Farmington, entered into eternal rest on October 8, 2022, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 78. He was born on July 6, 1944, in St. Louis to the late William J. and Gladys L. (Blackstun) Baker. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Beth (Zolman) Baker, his daughter, Christine (Klayton) Buckley of Oklahoma City, OK, his grandchildren, Kristopher Buckley of Farmington and Kate (Anthony) Heumann of St. Louis, his sister-in-law, Angela (Norman) Steffens of St. Louis, his niece, Susan (Billy) Ratz of St. Louis, his great niece and great nephew, Cameron and Natalie Ratz, along with many friends. Bill proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He retired after 38 years of service at First State Community Bank. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #12332, American Legion Post #416, and Elks Lodge #1765. He was the announcer for the Farmington High School Football team for over 20 years and was a volunteer for the Friends in Action Clubhouse. Bill was an avid golfer, a technology whiz, and a fan of St. Louis Cardinal baseball. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 7:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father John Schneider officiating. Interment with full military honors at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations, if desired, can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the charity of choice.
