William Anderson Atchisson, Jr.

STE. GENEVIEVE- William Anderson Atchisson Jr. passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, at his residence, at the age of 77 years. He was born October 23, 1934, in St. Louis, son of the late Edna (Morgeneier) and William A. Atchisson Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Dave Atchisson and a sister, Jackie Meyer. William proudly served his country from 1952-1954 in the United States Coast Guard. Following his honorable discharge William went to work for the St. Louis City Fire Department, from where he retired after almost 29 years of service. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, taking care of his pets, and spending time with his family. William will be missed by all those who knew and loved him, including his wife of 43 years, Lou (Hutchinson) Atchisson of Ste. Genevieve, son, Scott Atchisson and wife Jackie of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, daughter Pam Jacks of Ste. Genevieve, three grandchildren, Shannon Jacks, William Billy A. Atchisson III, and Natalia Atchisson, and many dear friends and neighbors. The family will hold a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory with full military honors to follow at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery at Farmington. Memorials if desired, may be made to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center.
