Wayne Patton

FARMINGTON Wayne Patton, of Farmington, went on to his Heavenly home on January 5, 2023, at the age of 70. He was born June 19, 1952, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Jack and Willa Jean (Staggs) Patton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Michael Patton. Wayne grew up on a farm in Wheelersville, Ohio. He went to Welch College in Nashville where he attained a bachelors degree. Later he went to Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina where he attained a masters in bible and missions. A second masters degree was obtained in Educational Development from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. Going forward Wayne was blessed to have taught and/or administrated Christian schools in Georgia, U. S. Virgin Islands, Illinois, California, Tennessee, and Hawaii. He was a Pastor at Anahola Baptist Church in Anahola, Hawaii and he later was Associate Pastor at Leadington Free Will Baptist Church until his passing. His passion was teaching Gods word around the world on every continent except Antarctica. His last teaching trip was to Tanzania, Africa. One of his favorite teaching experiences was homeschooling his grandchildren. Wayne was "born to teach". Survivors include Margaret, Waynes loving wife of 46 years; a daughter, Susannah (Dave) Koester; a son, Nathan (Erin) Patton; nine grandchildren, Andrew (Taylor) Koester, Matthew Koester, Jonas Koester, Maggie Koester, William Patton, James Patton, Laurabelle Patton, Elisabeth Patton and Callum Patton; one great granddaughter, Averie Koester; two brothers, Richard Patton and Timothy (Rita) Patton. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Leadington Free Will Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Memorials, if desired, may be made to I.
