Wanda Chatman

Wanda Z. Chatman of Farmington passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center, at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 19 days. She was born on December 3, 1921, at Ellington, MO, daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah (Goforth) Carver. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Otto H. Chatman, two sisters, Alice Slankard, Victoria Minch and a brother, Otto Carver. Wanda and Otto retired to Farmington after a long military career which took them to multiple states. After they retired to Farmington in 1959, Wanda enjoyed gardening, traveling and entertaining friends and family. Survivors include a son, Doug Dehner and his wife Carolyn of Severn, MD; two grandchildren, Mark Dehner and his wife Sandi and Thomas Dehner; five great-grandchildren, Collin, Samantha, Lance, Parker and Noah Dehner and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 26. Visitation will resume Tuesday at 7 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jay Lacey officiating. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis at 2:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
