BELLEVIEW - Walter Wamsley of Belleview passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 at Mercy Hospital St. Louis at the age of 66 years. He was born May 30, 1948 in Kingstown, New York son of the late William Amos and Grace Elizabeth (Conway) Wamsley. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two daughters, Milissa Moses and Cindy Connelly. Walter proudly served his country in the Navy Seabees during Vietnam. Before retirement he worked 25 years for the Cominco Mining Company as a lead miner at the Bixby Mine. He was a member of the VFW Post #5896 . In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, going to car shows, shopping for the household, spending time with friends, drinking beer (particularly Natural Light and Bud Light) and taking care of his granddaughter and his family. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his wife Kelly (Askew) Wamsley of Belleview, children Sonya Kozer of Branson, Kim Walker of Springfield, Laura Moses-Lewis of North Canton, Ohio, Ronnie Moses of Fenton, Billy Moses of Caledonia, Landon Horton of Belleview, Monica Moses of Caledonia, Patrick Wamsley of St. Charles, Tammy Wamsley of Oklahoma, and Isabela Wamsley of Belleview, two sisters, Lillian Wamsley and Julia Benjamin both of Phoenicia, New York, ten grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives, dear friends and neighbors. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Friday May 1, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Cozean Chapel followed by full military honors at the funeral home. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis at a later date. The family has requested no floral tributes be sent but requests memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project.
