Walter Horn

Walter Lee Horn of rural Farmington, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2010, at his residence at the age of 72 years, 6 months, and 17 days. He was born on March 30, 1938, at Stoney Point, MO, son of the late Orville Walter Horn and Molly Lavada (Mosier) Horn Campbell. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Horn and a grandson, Jeffrey Paul Corcoran. Walter was employed as a Certified Welder with the American Car Foundation in St. Louis. He was a member of the Pendleton Masonic Lodge No. 551, the Family CB Club of Missouri where he was known as No. 10 Hillbilly / Little Bit . He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, chatting on CB Radios, and was above all a family man. Walter is survived by his wife, Glenda Marie (McGee) Horn of Farmington, daughter, Linda Kay (Jeff) Holdman of Park Hills, daughter, Brenda Fay (Kevin) Schrum of Farmington, son, Walter Wayne Horn of Cape Girardeau, son, Roy Lee (Sherry) Horn of Desloge, daughter, Maggie Lavada Witt of Farmington, brother, Vernon (Brenda) Horn of Potosi, his step-mother, Thelma Horn of Farmington, 12 grandchildren, Greg Corcoran, Tara Holdman, Kara Pirtle, Brian Holdman, Leanna Ashe, Derrick Horn, Kevin Scott Schrum, Erin Sutton, Christopher Schrum, Roy Lee Horn Jr., Shiana Witt, and Daniel Witt, six great-grandchildren, Breanna, Dylan, Alexia, Kimber, Landon, and Tenley, ten half-brothers and half-sisters, Larry Campbell, Marvin Campbell, Margaret Wright, Thelma Lunsford, Frank Horn, Connie McKee, Janet Hobbs, Pam Brewer, Charles Horn, and Ronald Horn. Many other relatives and friends also survive. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 7 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel with the Rev. James Lacey officiating. Interment will be at Pendleton Cemetery in Doe Run. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
