Virginia Mills Green Thomure

Virginia Mills Green Thomure of Farmington passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at Camelot Nursing Center, at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 2 days. She was born on April 5, 1918, at Marquand, MO, the daughter of the late Charles and Sally Jane (Mills) Green. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Thomure Sr., and a brother, Jesse B. Green. Mrs. Thomure was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Baptist Church and was involved in many church activities. She was a member of the Christian Womens Club. Mrs. Thomure retired from MO State Hospital in Farmington. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, and did alterations for many in the Farmington area. She loved to spend time outdoors working in her garden. She will be greatly missed by all her family and that includes three sons, Willie E. Thomure Jr. (Jean) of Trenton, GA, Robert R. Thomure (Joyce) of Hopkinsville, KY, and Charles N. Thomure of Farmington, a daughter, Wanda Brenneke (Ted), of Farmington, a brother, Norvell Green (Martha), and two sisters, Norma Johnson and Mary Pearl Bohs, all of Farmington, thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her church family also survive. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2007. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Brother Kenneth Wirtmiller officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Pleasant Hill United Church or Alzheimers Association.
