Virginia Lee Vandiver

March 13, 1928 — July 29, 2017

KEARNEY - Virginia Lee Vandiver, formerly of Farmington, Missouri passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 29, 2017 at Westbrook Care Center in Kearney, Missouri at the age of 89. She was born in Cantwell, Missouri on March 13, 1928 to the late William Augusta and Fannie (Gilbert) Henroid. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David Vandiver and a grandson, Jeremy Vandiver, as well as five brothers and five sisters.

While living in Farmington, Virginia contributed to the community by being active in the local Democratic Party as vice president , president and runner up of the year for the St. Francois Democrat of the Year. She attended First Baptist Church of Farmington and taught Sunday School and Bible School. Virginia was a real estate agent and worked for many years with her husband in the D.J. Vandiver Real Estate and Construction Corporation. She enjoyed working with new home owners and helping them design their homes. Her family was her passion and she loved being able to spend time with them. She will be most remembered for her newly developed talent of writing and recording spiritual music. She loved to entertain her Westbrook friends with a concert of her music and the scripture that accompanied her songs. She truly felt lead by the Lord to share her testimony through music

Survivors include one brother, Paul Henroid of Desloge, four children Donna Manz married to Steve of Liberty, Missouri, Terry Vandiver married to Beverly of Farmington and Kenneth Vandiver married to Janice of Park Hills, Allen Vandiver married to Debbie of Cadet; six grandsons and one granddaughter, Brian Manz, wife of Marcy of Lees Summit, Missouri, Chad Manz, wife Kelly of Lees Summit, Missouri, Jeffrey Vandiver, wife Crystal of Farmington, Jason Vandiver of Farmington, Jessica Zobrisky, husband Craig of Bonne Terre and Benjamin Vandiver of Farmington. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends may call on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 9:30 to 10:30 followed by a funeral service beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Kenneth Vandiver officiating. Interment will be immediately after the service at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
