Virginia Chapman

FARMINGTON Virginia Chapman of Farmington, passed away on January 30, 2021 at her residence at the age of 84. She was born on August 20, 1936, in St. Louis, MO to the late Jesse Willard and Mary Helen (McClanahan) Janis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy Chapman and her brother, Larry (the late Pat) Janis. Virginia is survived by her daughters, Tina (Rick) McDowell of Farmington, MO, Rebecca (John) Priebe of Hazelwood, MO, and Rachel (Michael) Galbraith of Wood River, IL, her granddaughters, Megan (Adam) Carrow-Crume, Catiltin (Caleb) Govero, and Samantha Chapman, her great granddaughters, Elaina Govero, Bailey Govero, and Olivia Chapman, her niece, Susan (Randy) Dean, her nephew, Steve Chapman, along with other close family and friends. Virginia retired as a teacher from the Farmington School District after 32 years of service. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Farmington where she was involved with the Life Plus Ministry Team and the Women's Missionary Union. She was a Sunday School teacher and was the Director of her Sunday School class. She also volunteered for Preferred Hospice. She was a former gift shop volunteer at Parkland Health Center and Presbyterian Manor. She enjoyed painting, reading, traveling, crocheting and sewing. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 7:00am until time of service at 1:00pm in the Cozean Chapel. Interment to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery..
