Virginia Barnhouse

DOE RUN - Virginia Barnhouse of Doe Run, passed away February 8, 2021 at Camelot Nursing and Rehab at the age of 98. She was born in Iron Mountain, Missouri to the late Emert Crawford and Ruth (Ryan) Crawford. She was raised by Mary and Jim Crawford who also preceded her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Esta "Barney" Barnhouse in 1995; a son, Norman Barnhouse in 2017; a sister, Wilma Kassabaum and an infant child. Virginia enjoyed the wild birds who made their home in her yard. She religiously fed them everyday. She was an excellent cook and even after raising nine children, she never tired of cooking for her family. For several years she was on the food service staff at Presbyterian Manor. Virginia was a great lover of having dogs at her side. She doted on her dogs like they were part of her family. Survivors include her children, Marie Sheppard, Jerry (Darline) Barnhouse, Jim (Rita) Barnhouse, Dortha (Ed) Turner, Gary Lynn (Mary) Barnhouse, Dale (Patty) Barnhouse, Steve Barnhouse, Larry Barnhouse; 18 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral beginning at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Farmington Pet Adoption Center. All in attendance are asked to wear a facial mask and to social distance.
