Violet June Peeler of Farmington passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at the age of 82. She was born on April 22, 1930, in St. Louis, daughter of the late Frederick William and Myrtle Amanda (Rose) Cochran. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Samuel Peeler in 1960. Violet was born and raised in St. Louis and relocated to Marquand in 1960. In 1974 she began working at Madison Memorial Hospital where she became a Nurse's Aide. In 1995 she retired from nursing and enjoyed volunteering at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center. She was a faithful member of Life Church Farmington where she had attended for thirty years. She was happiest when she was spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren. Violet is survived by her children, Raymond Peeler and wife, Carolyn, David C. Peeler and wife, Helen, Terry Lee Sitze, and Deborah Ann Crites and husband, Ron; grandchildren Heather Spurgeon, Kristie Ott, Scott Peeler, Damon Peeler, Eric Sitze, Stephen Crites and Jonathan Crites; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Cochran; two nephews and other extended family and good friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Tuesday, December 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Leon Miller officiating. Interment will be at Moore's Chapel Cemetery near Marquand. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Childrens' Hospital.
