** REVISED** FARMINGTON Violet Clarice Hatfield of Farmington, entered into eternal rest on September 4, 2021, at Camelot Nursing Home at the age of 101. She was born on November 25, 1919, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Clarence and Mary (Sommers) Caugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hatfield, her grandson, Fred Thilking, and her sister, Lily Kraisser. Violet is survived by her children, Henry (and wife Kathy) Thilking of Ste. Genevieve, Wayne (and wife Fran) Thilking of Ste. Genevieve, and Elaine (and husband Ronnie) Gibson of Bloomsdale, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and many friends. Violet was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in St. Louis. She previously worked at a vitamin factory in St. Louis and always believed vitamins was instrumental in her longevity in life. She also worked in the food service industry as a restaurant worker and bartender. She was a member of Genevieve Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and crossword puzzles. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Per Violets request her body will be donated to Washington University for the advancement of science. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 2:00pm outdoors at Genevieve Baptist Church.
