Vernon 'J.R.' J. Hull

MARYLAND HEIGHTS Vernon "J.R." J. Hull of Maryland Heights, passed away on March 5, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 74. He was born on October 20, 1946 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Vernon Hull and Olive (Haynes) Hull Baker, who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Baker, his sister, Carol Sue Slane, and his nephew, Dennis "Bo" Michael Hull. Vernon proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of VFW Post 5896 of Farmington, VFW Post 3944 of Overland and the American Legion Post 338 of Overland. He enjoyed the outdoors and working with his hands. He loved fishing and some of his greatest times were his fishing trips to Canada with his brother, Dennis. Vernon was very instrumental in the caretaking of his family's cemetery, Zolman Cemetery. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Vernon is survived by his wife, Ann (Atkinson) Hull, his brother, Dennis (Tish) Hull of Bridgeton, his stepchildren, William "Bill" (Anna) Atkinson of Branson and Wayne Atkinson of Branson, his brother in law, Stephen Slane of Barnhart, his special canine companion, J, and many friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 11:00am until time of service at 1:00pm at Cozean Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Ron Beaton.
