Velma Ross

Velma Ross of Doe Run passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center at the age of 80 years. She was born on November 07, 1927, in Caledonia, the daughter of the late Ellis and Callie Mae (Seabourne) Huitt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Ross, brothers, Jim Huitt and Lonnie Huitt, and sister, Lucille McIntyre. Mrs. Ross retired from the Farmington State Hospital after 38 years of service, with her last position as a Dietary Supervisor. She is survived by three sons, Gary Ross (Sue) of Desloge, Larry Ross (Suzanne) of Farmington, and Terry Ross of Doe Run, a daughter, Judy Ross and fianc, Raye Kyle of Doe Run, five grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle (Autumn), Megan, Sarah and Devin. The family will receive friends at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2008. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Friday, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Lacey officiating. Burial will follow at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Caledonia Methodist Church.
