IRONTON - Van Francis Robinson of Ironton passed away on December 21, 2024, at his residence in Ironton at the age of 81. He was born in Farmington, Missouri on August 5, 1943, to the late Vernon and Verna Rose Robinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Celeste Robinson and Diane Naeger.
Van grew up in Park Hills and graduated from Milites St. Joseph High School. He went onto St. Francis Community College and ultimately went into the financing industry. He was a bank president for several area banks. After retirement he worked at the Bank of the Lead Belt as a vice president.
In his spare time, he enjoyed coaching Little League baseball while his children were young. Van loved all babies. Just the presence of a baby made his heart melt. He was a hands-on and dedicated dad who helped and nurtured his children's needs. He was generous and worked hard.
Survivors are sons, Bryan Robinson, Brad (Jalayne) Robinson, and Jason Robinson; stepdaughter, DeShay Pratt and stepson, Eric Thompson; grandchildren, Brandon Robinson, Jeremiah Robinson, Cassie Wilson, Landon Robinson, Shailyn Robinson, Alyssa Robinson, Jaylin Robinson, Haley Dunbar, Avery Dunbar, Natasha Browers, Jamie Browers, Amber Wells, D.J. Roberts, and Taylor Roberts, one great grandchild, his sister, Susan Sebastian and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
