* REVISED OBITUARY
Tina Lynn (Page) Mecey, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, colleague, and hero, lost her short
but fierce battle with occupational cancer at Barnes Jewish Hospital on January 14, 2025, at age
55. Tina dedicated her life to God, her family, her church, and serving her communities as a
firefighter/paramedic for 34 years. Tina gave her life for her love of the firefighting profession
and serving the community.
After graduation from De Soto High School, Tina obtained her bachelor’s degree in sports
medicine at Mizzou. While attending college, she was a resident firefighter at the Boone
County Fire District. Tina went on to obtain her paramedic license and worked as both a
ground and flight paramedic. Tina served as a forestry firefighter and went on many
deployments throughout the country from Florida to California. She served as a member of the
Farmington Fire Department and eventually fulfilled her dream of becoming a
Firefighter/Engineer at the Mehlville Fire District.
Tina was involved in her church, Parkland Chapel, as a volunteer. Her faith was unshakable and
if you knew her you quickly found out that Tina led her life as a faithful Christian and servant of
her Savior. One of the highlights of her life was making the pilgrimage to Israel with her
Parkland Chapel family and being baptized in the Sea of Galilee.
Tina had a lifelong passion and love for horses. She was a seasoned rider and eventually a great
coach for her daughter, Karrington, who shares the same love and compassion for their horses.
Tina owned horses from pasture pets to national champions, but loved and cared for them all
the same. She owned a horse and carriage business serving special events, weddings and
funerals.
Tina is survived by her husband Todd Mecey, daughters Jazmin (Juan) Jurkevicius and
Karrington Mecey, father Vern Page, mother in-law Phyllis Mecey, brother Tracy (Cindy) Page,
sister Libby Page, brother Ritchie (Laura) Page, and special canine companion Mika. She is also
survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, colleagues, church family
and fire families.
Tina was preceded in death by her loving mother Janet Page, father In-Law Lloyd Mecey, and
grandparents.
Tina will be receiving firefighter honors as she gave her life in the line of duty. A visitation will
