Thomas Earl Nutter

FARMINGTON Thomas Earl Nutter, 69, passed away October 22, 2016 at his residence. He was born October 20, 1947 in St. Louis to the late William Earl and Betty Marie (Jones) Nutter.

After growing up in the Cedar Hill area, Thomas went into the Military where he served during the Vietnam War and went on to be career military where he was in Explosive Ordinance Disposal. While serving in the Army he was a Warrant Officer 4 and earned Silver and Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts. He also worked for both the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department and the St. Francois County Sheriff's Department. For a time he was a bail bondsman and currently he owned Bell's Books and Candles in Desloge.

Survivors include his two sons, Tom "Docc" (Jodie) Nutter and Sean (Shannon) Nutter; his former wife, Karen Wilson; grandchildren, Harley Zane McClain, Jasmine Alexandria Nutter, Dayton Marie Shipp, Adrian Kearbey and Hailey Kearbey.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 4 at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors. View the online obituary and share your condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
