BISMARCK Thomas Arthur Reeves of Bismarck passed away on October 2, 2017 at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 70. He was born in Ironton on August 16, 1947 to the late Cornelius "Slim" Reeves and Gloria Belle (King) Reeves. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Todd Martin; and by his former wife and the mother of his children, Linda Kristine Brooks.
Most of Toms friends fondly referred to him as "Crazy Tom", a name that has stuck for many years. During the Vietnam War, Tom served in the Navy from 1965 to 1968 where he was a Seabee. He had a long career with the glass factory in Park Hills where he performed maintenance on the equipment. To say he enjoyed motorcycles would be an understatement. He made many long distance trips on his Harley with good friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in tournaments. Toms big hearted, kind spirit will live on in the memories of his loved ones.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Melissa (Salvatore) Izzo, Kathleen (Ralph) Haupt and Lee Ailworth; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as one great great granddaughter; a sister, Carol Foster and a niece and nephew. Also surviving are many good friends to include Tom DeClue, Dennis Degonia and Rob Handsford.
A memorial service with Military Honors will be held Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel. View the online obituary and share your condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
