Theodore "Ted" Brenneke

Theodore "Ted" Edgar Brenneke of Farmington passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 30 days. He was born on October 22, 1934, in Bonne Terre, son of the late Theodore Edgar and Minnie Marie (Spradling) Brenneke. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Leroy and Donald Ray; two sisters, Carolyn Kay and Suzanne Mae; and a nephew, Donald Ray Jr. Ted was a lifelong resident of the mineral area. An electrician by trade, he worked with various area manufacturers in repairing and maintaining heavy machinery. During his life he was also an over-the-road truck driver, a police officer for the City of Potosi and he had his own television repair shop. In his spare time he enjoyed riding his Honda Gold Wing which he took on many long adventurous trips with his friends. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and watching his Purple Martins. A talented musician, he often played his guitar and made up lyrics to songs he created on the spur of the moment. He especially liked Blue Grass gospel music which led him to a circle of friends who had a mutual admiration for this music. Theodore is survived by his wife, Wanda R. (Thomure) Brenneke, a son, Jerry Lynn (Charlotte) Brenneke of Titusville, FL; 2 step-children, Jim (Rebecca) McDaniel of O'Fallon, MO, Darren (Vanessa) McDaniel and Lisa (Mrs. Dave) Ferguson, all of Troy, MO; two brothers, Billy Joe (Angie) Brenneke of Bonne Terre and Ronald (Rosemarie) Brenneke of St. Louis; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m on Saturday, June 25. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Hugo Walka officiating.
