Teddy W. Chapman

FARMINGTON Teddy Wayman Chapman of Farmington passed away June 9, 2017 at The Arbors of Maplebrook in Farmington at the age of 88 years. He was born on February 12, 1929 at Qulin son of the late Homer Lee and Kate Ruth (Gray) Chapman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Iris Rumburg and two brothers, Dr. Gordon Jerome Chapman and Drexel Chapman.

Teddy proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He was a long-time and faithful member of the Farmington First Baptist Church and at the time of his death he was the oldest living member of the Farmington Odd Fellows St. Francois Lodge #48 where he had served as Past Noble Grand and for many years as Lodge Chaplain. He was also a successful Plumber and worked with his brother Drexel operating Chapman Plumbing in Farmington for many years. He later went on to work for the City of Farmington from where he retired.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Virginia (Janis) Chapman of Farmington, three daughters Tina (& Rick) McDowell of Farmington, Rebecca (& John) Priebe of St. Louis, and Rachel (& Michael) Galbraith of Wood River, Illinois, a sister Maxine Baker of Austin, Texas, three grandchildren, two-great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the Cozean Chapel with the Reverend Dr. William C. Miller officating. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Farmington Odd Fellows Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Farmington First Baptist Church.
