Teddy Dillard Thomure

Teddy Dillard Thomure of Farmington passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012, at the age of 74. He was born on November 6, 1937, at Weingarten, son of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Grace Irene (Rector) Thomure. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters, Connie Irene Pearson and Brenda Louise Thomure; a step-son, David Coleman; and two brothers, William Osborn Thomure and Hillard Lee Thomure. "Ted" as most knew him will be remembered as a hard working man who was a Jack of all trades. He spent 35 years as a heavy equipment operator for the Local 513 Hoisting Engineers. On September 10, 1977 he married the love of his life, Elizabeth "Liz" Coleman who survives and he and Liz together had a large family. He loved spending time with his family and they will remember him as the most kind and loving father, grandfather and step-father who would do anything for them. He was a very faithful member of the Abundant Life Family Church in Delassus. Ted's passing will leave a large void in his family and he will be very much missed by all. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife, Liz, are two daughters, Theresa Thomure, Margie Wimberly and husband, Kevin, three sons, Johnny Thomure and wife, Lynettia, Teddy Thomure and Tim Thomure and wife, Shelly; one step-son, Steve Coleman and wife, Colinda; twenty-two grandchildren, Darin Pearson, Pam Collier, Misty Bush, Danny and Cody Turner, Chastity Martin, Teddy Thomure, II, Tara Thomure, Ashley Propst, Zach Thomure, Chelsea, Cole, Carlee, and Carson Thomure, Brandon Thomure, April and Brenda Wimberly, Tina, Torie and Todd Coleman, Kecia and Kaylee Coleman; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Pipkin and wife, Frances and David Pipkin; two sisters, Delores Settles and Elsie Chamberlain; a special "brother", Ron Hammers; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel and Crematory on Friday, September 21 from 5 to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the service time beginning at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Rick Hensley officiating.
