Sue Klingensmith

FARMINGTON Sue E. Klingensmith of Farmington passed away at her home on June 4, 2016, at the age of 79. She was born at Farmington, Missouri on June 12, 1936, to the late Roy Oscar and Mary Harriett (Tubbs) Berghaus. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse E. Klingensmith, Sr. in 2007; a daughter, Gail Cole in 2015; a brother, Steve Berghaus and a sister, Carol Berry.

Sue was a life-long resident of the Farmington area where she attended school and then she went on to both Mineral Area College and Webster University where she ultimately earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. She taught school at Jefferson Elementary for many years until her retirement in 1996. She was a faithful and active member of Presbyterian Church of Farmington where she was a life-long member. Her daily ritual always included reading "The Upper Room" and scriptures from the Bible. Sue was an avid equestrian, gardener and quilter. She will be remembered for being a strong, independent and spiritual woman.

Survivors include her children, Phil Klingensmith of Springfield, MO, Beth Wall of Farmington and Jesse (Bonny) Klingensmith of Imperial, MO; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy (Brenda) Berghaus and two sisters, Judy (Tom) Gore and Mary Faith Urquhart; many nieces, nephews, extended family and many good friends.

Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday morning at 7 a.m. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with the Reverend Paul Bembower officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Parkview Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Mary Berghaus Flower Fund at the Presbyterian Church of Farmington.
