Stella G. Wilcox

FARMINGTON Stella G. Wilcox of Farmington passed away August 25, 2017 at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center at the age of 92. She was born June 5, 1925 to the late William and Fay (Farrow) Mitchell. She was united in marriage on January 22, 1944 to John Wilcox who preceded her in death on October 10, 1976. She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael G. Wilcox in 2013; four sisters, Dollie Gobble, Goldie Laird, Alice Lay and Lois Terrill; and three brothers, Elmer, Earl and Clyde Mitchell.

Stella grew up in the southern Missouri community of Summersville. She and John moved the family to St. Louis in 1955 and Stella moved to Farmington in 1987. She enjoyed raising cattle on the familys farm and liked to work with her flower gardens as well. She loved family get togethers where she always made delicious meals. Everyone looked forward to her wonderful blackberry cobbler. She was a member of the Farmington Nazarine Church.

Survivors include two children, Jerri (Bob) Fenton and Ron (Patty) Wilcox; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothea Stuart; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Friends may call on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the Cozean Memorial Chapel with services at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Rev. Art Menard officiating.
