Lynn "skip' Otis Matthews of Farmington passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Country Meadows of Park Hills, at the age of 96 years. He was born on August 3, 1910, in Farmington, the son of the late Eurich and Hattie (Anthony) Matthews. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Staten) Matthews, three sons, Dewey L. Matthews, Dallas A. Matthews, and Edward F. Matthews, a daughter, Gloria J. Frost, two sisters, Virginia Walker and Elizabeth James, and a brother, Charles Matthews. Mr. Matthews was a life-time resident of Farmington. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, and worked at the Trimfoot Company for several years before becoming a custodian at Ozarks Federal Savings. He is survived by two sons, William E. Matthews and wife Etta of Farmington, and Charles E. Matthews and wife Sharron of St. Louis, a daughter, Betty Burnett of Festus, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great grandchildren. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, August. 6, 2007. Visitation will resume at the Cozean Chapel on Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at 7;30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a. m. at the First Assembly of God of Farmington with the Rev. Hugh Cerutti officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at New Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or Colony Church Road Masonic Cemetery Fund.
