Shirley Mae Hutchings

FARMINGTON Shirley Mae (Reeves) Hutchings of Farmington passed away on December 24, 2023, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 94. She was born in Leadwood, Missouri on April 5, 1929, to the late Jesse Reeves and Augusta (Welker) Reeves. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Clifford Hutchings in 1996; a daughter, Cathy Yvonne (Hutchings) Redmond; sisters, Mildred Cox and Amanda Weaver and brother, Lester Rickman. Shirley married her late husband, Aubrey, on October 25, 1947. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Most of her adult life was spent working as a secretary at Mid-States Laundry and Premier Linen with her best friend, Bonnie Brown. Shirley was an inspiration to all who knew her. She had a heart of gold that was always filled with kindness and an innocent spirit. Her true calling was loving children. She was a mom and grandma to all. Survivors include her children Larry (Joni Eaves) Hutchings and Christine Hutchings and fianc Dennis Farmer; grandchildren, Mark (Whitney) Hutchings, Lori (Aaron) Steinmann, Morgan (Derrick) Comnick, Miles Straughan, Jon Straughan, Kelly (Rodney) Young, Kadie (Mike) Crites and Mick (Stacey) Redmond; great grandchildren, Colten Young, Austin Young, Briana Ivester, Matthew Barks, Kaysie Spanhook-Redmond, Jordan VanGennip, and Tate Hutchings; great-great grandchildren, Aubrielle and Rueger Ivester; sister, Dorothy Reeves and her beloved canine companions, Georgie and Zena. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 8 pm. Visitation will resume Friday morning at 7 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Vicar Richard Wiskus officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington, Missouri. Memorials, if desired, may be made in Shirleys name to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
