Shirley Mae Bloom

Shirley Mae Bloom of Farmington departed this life on Monday, February 22, 2010 at the age of 71 years. She was born on December 9, 1938, at DeSoto, the daughter of the late Arthur and Margie (LaPlant) Cooper. She was also preceded in death by two sons, David Bloom and Robert Bloom Jr., and two brothers, Charles Cooper and Everette Cooper. Mrs. Bloom worked for 28 years and retired from both SEMO Mental Health Center and Hunts Dairy Bar. She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Johnston, a son, Joe Bloom, both of Farmington, five grandchildren, Justin Thomas and wife Bryanna, Kristin Johnston and Jared Johnston, all of Farmington, and April Bloom and Candace Bloom, both of the State of Florida, two great-granddaughters, Katlyn and Carlie Thomas of Farmington, and two great-greatgrandsons, Josh Bloom and Jacob Hundley, both of Florida. Other relatives and friends also survive. Per Shirleys wishes, there will be no formal services. She will be laid to rest next to her sons at Parkview Cemetery. A private memorial service celebrating her life with family and close friends will be held at a later date. The family would appreciate flowers, or donations to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center in her memory. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cozean Memorial Chapel.
