Shirley Jean Loewe

FARMINGTON Shirley Jean Loewe of Farmington passed away on February 11, 2023 at Community Manor at the age of 86. She was born in Farmington on March 11, 1936 to the late Jesse M. Haynes and Edna Pearl (Byington) Haynes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lester Loewe; and her siblings Joseph Haynes, Frances Ische, Bettie Bullock, Jesse "Leroy" Haynes and Hattie Miller. Shirley grew up in Farmington where she went to St. Paul Lutheran school and then on to Farmington High School from where she graduated. She retired from Farmington State Hospital after a long career there as a dietician. She was a lifelong, faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Farmington. Family gatherings and holidays were Shirleys favorite events. She was a kid at heart and loved playing croquet, badminton and biking with the younger members of the family. She will be remembered for her signature dessert, Cherry Cheesecake which she made for the family on numerous occasions. She was loved and admired by her entire family. Survivors include her special niece, who was like a daughter, Sandra (Mrs. Raymond) Canterberry and other beloved nieces, Charlene, Cindy and Vickie along with numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and extended family. There will be a visitation from 5 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Friday beginning at 7:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Rev. Stephen Constien officiating.
