Shirley “Billie” Ann Gonz

FARMINGTON - Shirley "Billie" Gonz of Farmington, passed into her Heavenly home on Sunday, May 29, 2022. She was born January 26, 1936 in Knob Lick to the late Richard Monroe Kinney and Opal (Canter) Kinney. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Gonz in 2001; two children, Roger Dale Gonz and Phoebe Nanette Gonz; siblings, Georgia "Ree" Hicks, Opal "Kayo" Medley, Mary Jane Jones, James Kinney, Leroy Kinney and "son" John David Kinney; a grandson, Jeff Harp and a great grandson, Bradon Barker. Billie grew up in Knob Lick where she graduated from high school. She married William D. Gonz when she was fourteen years old and they were married over fifty years. She was a social butterfly who loved to dress up and go places. Billie never met a stranger and loved to visit. She was a proud member of the Farmington "McDonald's Gang" who gathered daily to share breakfast and fellowship. Her special homemade donuts will be fondly remembered by her family members. Billie was a long time, faithful member of Farmington First Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Yvonne (Steve) Eck and Sonja "Sam" Hamblin; sisters, Wanda Hambrick, Linda (Dearl) Miller; and Pam "daughter" (Larry) Harp; many grandchildren; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Roger Hogan officiating. Interment will follow at Knob Lick Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Farmington First Free Will Baptist Church.
