Shirley Bass

Shirley Mae Bass, of St. Clair Shores, MI, and formerly of Farmington, passed away April 18, 2015 at the age of 83 years. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 16, 1931 to the late Russell Harrison and Mildred (Witges) Monia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Patrick J. Bresley; her first husband, Patrick D. Bresley and her second husband, Leon Wilson Bass. Also she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford "Tip" Harrison and Richard Harrison. Shirley had worked as a beautician and waitress and later was a CNA. She was self employed working as a private caregiver. In her spare time she loved being on the water and fishing. Her fun loving spirit and her love of laughing will be a fond memory of her loved ones. Survivors are her daughter, Vicky Bresley (Bruce) Gillman of St. Clair Shores, MI; daughter-in-law, Saundra Bresley; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. with visitation resuming Thursday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel.
