Sherry Bequette

Sherry Ellen Bequette of Farmington passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at the age of 71. She was born on August 19, 1941, at St. Louis, daughter of the late Arthur and Thelma (Woodruff) Hughes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Laramore and her twin brother, Jerry Hughes. A lifelong resident of the area, Sherry attended Doe Run School and graduated from Farmington High School in 1959. She worked in the housekeeping department at Farmington Community Hospital, now Parkland Health Center for many years. She was also employed for a time with Trimfoot and Farmington Meat Processing. An avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, Sherry also enjoyed playing Wii games and doing crafts. Survivors include her daughter, Susie Price and husband, Mike of Bloomsdale; two grandsons, Nathan Phillips and wife, Sara of Park Hills and Devon Whaley of Bloomsdale; one great grand-daughter, Addisyn Phillips; her three beloved dogs, Sparkey, Ginger and Scooby Doo. Also surviving is a nephew, Jerry Laramore; two aunts, Irene and Pauline and uncle, Bill. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Thursday, October 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service beginning at 10 a.m. with Chaplain Geri Coulter officiating.
