Sheila K. Allen

FARMINGTON Sheila K. Allen of Farmington, passed away June 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born January 25, 1952 in Ironton the daughter of the late John "Gib" Cresswell and Alverna "Jackie" (Pruett) Cresswell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Cresswell.

A life long resident of Farmington, Sheila graduated from Farmington High School in 1970. She was active in the community and always proud to be from Farmington. She had been a member of the Chamber of Commerce, BPW, Kiwanis and Farmington Downtown Development Association. She was also a faithful member of Memorial United Methodist Church. An avid sportsman herself, she took great joy in watching her grandchildren in sporting events. Sheila loved traveling, especially to the beach. She will be remembered for loving and serving others.

Survivors include her daughter, Laura Murray and her husband, Dustin; grandchildren, Carter Ray Murray and Clara Mae Murray; one brother, Charles Cresswell; a sister, Charlotte Gulla and husband, John; three nephews, Winston Cresswell, Cody Gulla and Austin Gulla; an aunt, Mary Freeman; and an uncle, Bob Pruett. Also surviving are extended family and special friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. A memorial service with Reverend Scott Hall officiating will be held on Wednesday, June 7 at Memorial United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with a visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Carter's Clubhouse or Memorial United Methodist Church.
