Sarah Lee Smith

FARMINGTON - Sarah Lee Smith, 76, of Farmington passed away March 15, 2013. She was born December 2, 1936 at Paragould, Arkansas, daughter of the late Robert and Agnes (Carpenter) Coates. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl J. Smith. Sarah will be remember by many as having been employed for many years with the Fredericktown Public Schools as an elementary school secretary. She was a Christian woman and a member of Farmington First Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and all of her countless friends. Those left to mourn her passing include her son Wallace Yates (Mona) of Farmington, daughter Crystal (Mrs. Kenneth) LaForge of Mathes, Texas, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a sister Mary Lou Coates of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, brother John Coates of West Memphis, Arkansas, and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Richard Thompson officiating. Interment will be the Linwood Cemetery at Paragould, Arkansas at a later date. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org.
