Sandra Sandy Kaye Carrico of Farmington passed away on July 1, 2006, at her residence at the age of 56 years. She was born on February 22, 1950, at Reeves, MO, the daughter of the late Vetus Curly and Dolly Sally (Miller) Montgomery. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Carrico. Sandy graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1968. She earned a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She later earned a Masters in Counseling and a Specialists degree in Administration from Southeast Missouri State University. Sandy worked as a teacher, counselor, and administrator for 27 years in the Central and Farmington School Districts. After retirement, Sandy became Educare Director of St. Francois County and taught early childhood and special education classes at Mineral Area College. She is survived by her husband, Ron Gosling, son, Shawn Carrico and wife Cassie of Old Monroe, MO, daughter, Sarah Buerck and husband David of Farmington, step-son, Todd Gosling and wife Marquitta of Fredericktown, step-daughter, Miranda Owens and husband Justin of Park Hills, eight grandchildren, Taylor and Katie Carrico, Ethan, Madeline and Charlotte Buerck, Emily and Allison Gosling, and Abrianna Owens, brother, Bobby Joe Bell and wife Judith Ann of Boston, MA, three sisters, Judy Freed of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Lana Pals and husband Jack of Orient, Iowa, Beth Vaughn and husband Carlos of Ironton, nephew Andrew Vaughn and four nieces, Colby Edde, Erin Hale, Kelsey Vaughn, and Hailey Vaughn. Many cherished friends and co-workers also survive. Sandra was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church and also attended Solid Rock Fellowship and The Bridge. Sandy was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother grammy who devoted her life to giving to others. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2006. Visitation will resume on Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at the Memorial United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Milford Gibbs and the Pastor Darlene Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
