Ruby "Jo" Ross of Farmington passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Camelot Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 91 years, 9 months, and 19 days. She was born October 9, 1917, at her parents' farm in St. Francois County, daughter of the late Charles and Clara (O'Sullivan) Ryan, Sr. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Ryan, Jr. and Burke Ryan, and in 2008 by her husband of 66 years, Charles Robert Lee Ross. Ruby was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 416 where she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary, the NARF, Audubon Society and the Arbor Society. She enjoyed sewing, reading, flowers, cooking, dancing, and most of all being with her grandchildren. She was a licensed cosmetologist and owned and operated Ruby's Beauty Shop in Farmington for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Vivian "Veve" and husband Dennis Riche of Farmington; grandsons, Brad Robinson and wife Tara of Bonne Terre and Bryan Robinson of Ironton; great-grandchildren Brandon Robinson, Jeremiah Robinson, Colten Wigger, Natasha Browers, Cassie and husband Josh Adams; a great-great-granddaughter, Lilly Adams; and a sister-in-law, Mae Ryan. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. with an American Legion Auxiliary service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume Thursday at 7 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Rocky Good officiating. Interment will be at Parkview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the College of the Ozarks, American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association, HospiceCare, Inc. or the Farmington Pet Adoption Center.
