Ruby Margaret Holmes of Farmington passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Camelot Nursing & Rehab Center, at the age of 92 years and 6 days. She was born November 2, 1917, at St. Francois County, MO, the daughter of the late Charles and Della (Baldwin) Pirtle. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Holmes, two brothers and three sisters. She was a faithful, longtime member of Crossroads First Church of God of Libertyville. Her family was her first priority and she often babysat her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Being with her family was her favorite pastime. In her spare time she enjoyed daytime television and game shows. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen (Mrs. Floyd) Parmley of Irondale and Marilyn (Mrs. Roy) Bell of Fredericktown; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Pirtle; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Visitation will resume Thursday morning at 7 a.m. until service time beginning at 11 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel with Ruby's grandson, Pastor David Parmley officiating. Interment will follow at Libertyville Christian Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Crossroads First Church of God Building Fund.
