Roy Phillip Bell

April 9, 1941 — April 29, 2018

FREDERICKTOWN Roy Phillip Bell, of Fredericktown, passed away April 29, 2018 at his residence at the age of 77. He was born April 9, 1941 to the late William R. and Mildred (Leigh) Bell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Griffith, brothers, James Bell and Clifton Bell, and a nephew, Kenny Bell.

Roy was a former member of Crossroads First Church of God. He was a logger and operated a sawmill for many years. Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching Gunsmoke, his garden and was a junk collector.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (Holmes) Bell, children, Keith (Glenda) Bell Sr., Nancy (Paul) Barton and Rebecca Bell, six grandchildren, Keith Bell Jr., Courtney (Ryan) Wurst, Cody (Jetaime Hovis) Bell, Miranda Barton, Dalton Cooper, and Peyton Blackwell, ten great grandchildren, two sisters, Thelma Sales and Doris Schoonover, and special dog, Phoebe.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 1 at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume at 7 a.m. on Wednesday morning until time of service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Libertyville Christian Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
