Rosella Mattingly

November 28, 1930 — January 12, 2017

PILOT KNOB Rosella Mattingly, of Pilot Knob, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 in Ironton. She was born in Ironton on November 28, 1930 to the late John Monroe Howell and Stella Mae (Knight) Howell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Mattingly; her former husband, Michael Mattingly and all of her siblings, Beatrice Cauley, Dorothy Rector, Delores Woodfin, Donald Howell, Helen Purciful and Johnny Howell.

Rosella loved the Lord and enjoyed reading Christian Books. She attended the Lutheran Church in Fredericktown. She worked until the age of 79 and many of those years she was employed by the Fredericktown School District. A people person, Rosella, cherished the time she could spend with her grandchildren. She loved to cook for large family gatherings.

Survivors include her children, Peggy Mattingly, Ronnie Mattingly and Angela (David) Sitzes; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family as well.

Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. followed by a funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Tim Mattingly officiating.
