Rosa Priest

Rosa Virginia Priest of Arnold, formerly of Farmington, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2011, at her home at the age of 86 years. She was born January 18, 1925, in Elvins, daughter of the late Barbara (Mungle) and James McGraw. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Basil Fat Priest, and four siblings, Beulah Zolman, Anthony Tony McGraw, Everett Pearl McGraw and Eulah Sis Halton. Rosa spent her early married years caring for her home in Farmington and her son. She enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking as well as entertaining family and friends. She was a member of the Franklin Street Church of Christ in Fredericktown. After the death of Basil in 1999, Rosa moved to Arnold, Missouri to be close to her son Duane. Since that time she enjoyed the company of friends and family as well as the family pets. Rosa faced life with a smile and everyone she met always felt right at home in her presence. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Visitation will resume on Thursday at 7 a.m. with a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at the Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown. Friends and loved ones are encouraged to share fond memories of Rosa at the service. Memorials may be made to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center.
