FARMINGTON - Ronald Eugene Simms of Farmington, passed away May 11, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Hospital at the age of 81. He was born on July 23, 1939 in Farmington to the late Harold Simms and Joyce Elizabeth (Laws) Simms. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brother-in-laws, Clyde Winter and Larry Allen. A life-long resident of the Farmington area, Ronnie went to St. Paul Lutheran School through his eighth grade graduation before going on to high school at Farmington. Most of his life he worked as a farmer and retired from General Motors with over 30 years of service. Ronnie and his wife, Eva Jane, enjoyed camping and traveling to Texas where they stayed the first three and a half months of each year in Brownsville. He was a life-time member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Farmington. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Eva Jane (Harrington) Simms; son, Donnie (Kerri); daughters, Denita (Gary), and Dana (Pat); grandchildren, Michael, Kelsey (Richie), Justin, Blake (Kelbie), Tara (Eric), Brylee, Jordan (Ariel) and Jesse (Afton); great grandchildren, Haili, Makenzie, Lucas, Charlotte, Aiden, Levi, Owen, Chloe, Chandler, Erikson, and baby Simms on the way; sisters, Betty Winter, Sally Allen and brother, Harold Junior (Connie) Simms. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, his special friend Stanley and his fur baby Smokey Joe. Visitation will be held Monday, May 17 at Cozean Memorial Chapel beginning at 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Farmington.
