Ronald Pirtle

Ronald "Rab" Lee Pirtle, 73, of Farmington, passed away November 28, 2014 with his loving family by his side. He was born November 7, 1941 to the late J. Olin and Lelia (Burch) Pirtle. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Gracie Layne Despard in 2008 and a sister-in-law, Jeanie Pirtle. Ronnie as most knew him, grew up in the Elvins and Farmington area. He had been the co-owner of Scenic Rivers Boats and Motors in Bonne Terre for more than 34 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, skiing, and riding motorcycles. He was a wonderful family man who was happiest when he was spending time with his family and close friends. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marilyn (Cowley) Pirtle; two children, Carmen Pirtle and Rodney (Janna) Pirtle; one grandson, Lexie Pirtle, all of Farmington; a brother, Donald Pirtle of Bonne Terre; a niece, Gina (Todd) Williams; mother-in-law, Minnie Cowley; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Henson and Nettie (Ray) DeLuca and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 4 - 6 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 6 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Reverend Scott Hall officiating. The family requests that memorials be made to Farmington Pet Adoption Center or to Memorial United Methodist Church.
