OAK RIDGE, MO Ronald Lee Tepovich of Oak Ridge passed away peacefully at the home of his son on Sunday, May 15, 2016. He was born April 15, 1944 at Herrin, Illinois son of the late Eli and Opal (Campbell) Tepovich.
Ron proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in the performance of his duties. He was a member of VFW Post 1301 of Marion, IL and made his living as an independent carpenter. Ron was a man of Christian faith and values and associated himself as a follower of Jesus Christ.
He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his four children, Jeramy Svehla of Oak Ridge, Sarah Erzfeld of Perryville, Daniel Svehla of Oak Ridge and Kristen Svehla of Perryville as well as numerous other relatives, dear friends and neighbors.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Coal Bank Springs Cemetery at Marion, Illinois with Chaplain Shirley Martka officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
