Ronald Gene Hammers Sr.

FARMINGTON - Ronald Gene Hammers Sr. of Farmington passed away December 2, 2018 at his residence in Farmington at the age of 81. He was born Septemer 6, 1937 in Ste Genevieve County, Missouri to the late Marvin McKinley Hammers Sr. and Lottie (Rector) Hammers Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Bradley, and brothers, Marvin McKinley Hammers Jr., Carl Brown Sr., and Donald Hammers. Ronald is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Geri" (Faulkner) Hammers, children, Ronald Gene (& wife Charlotte) Hammers Jr. of Gilmer, TX, Floyd (& wife Julie) Hammers of Farmington, MO, Carolyn (& husband Mark) Goodman of Weldon, CA, Donald Hammers of Bonne Terre, MO, Rhonda (& husband David) Price of Belleview, MO, Lloyd (& wife Cyndi) Hammers of Temecula, CA, Gary (& wife Tabitha) Hammers of Park Hills, MO, Marvin Hammers of Farmington, MO, Matthew Hammers of Park Hills, MO and Johnny (& wife Netta) Thomure of Farmington, MO, 32 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, brother, Wilburn Hammers of South Carolina, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Ronald was a former faithful member of over 40 years at Doe Run Assembly of God Church. He was a devout Christian and currently attended the Abundant Life Family Church. He was an honest, humble man who loved his family. He proudly worked as a shuttle driver for over 20 years transporting veterans to John Cochran VA Medical Center and the VA Medical Center at Jefferson Barracks. Friends may call on Wednesday, December 5 at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday morning until time of service beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Cozean Memorial Chapel to assist with funeral expenses.
