Roger Dale Tackett of Farmington passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the age of 61 years, 7 months, and 14 days. He was born on January 30, 1953, at Springtown, MO, son of the late L.T. and Geneva (Dicus) Tackett. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a very close friend, Gary Jones. Roger grew up in the House Springs area and in 1971 on a trip to Hardys Quick Shop he met Iris Richardson with her sister and friends. He worked in Oklahoma until his retirement in 1994. The Tacketts moved back to Missouri in 1995. In his retirement Roger enjoyed making knives, walking sticks, going to the lake and doing leatherwork. His true passion, aside from his beloved wife, were classic Chevrolet cars and trucks. As a juvenile diabetic, he proved many doctors wrong as he lived many years beyond his life expectancy. He will be remembered for being a little man with a big impact on the world. In addition to his wife and best friend of 42 years, Iris, Roger is survived by two children, Krystal (Jeff) Farris of Potosi and Frank (Natalie) Tackett of Farmington; two grandchildren, Kaylee "Sissy" and Kylie "Bumpy" Farris of Potosi; four step-grandchildren, Justin Messex, Curtis Messex, Jeff "Bug" Jones and Jamie Coleman; two sisters, Judy (Tom) Moore of Barnhart and Brenda (Bob) Nelson of Arnold; mother and father-in-law, Paul Frank and Kathleen Richardson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul (Scherri) Richardson, Glenda "Peaches" (Jerry) Kohler, Michael (Theresa) Richardson, Wayne (Sherry) Richardson and Tommy (Bridgett) Richardson; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
