Robert Sliger

FARMINGTON - Robert Edward "Bob" Sliger, 69, of Farmington passed away November 8, 2012 at his home. He was born November 2, 1943 in St. Louis, son of the late Fred and Clara (Stegeman) Sliger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Sliger-Jones and a brother Don Sliger. Bob was a retired Electrician, having been employed for many years with Piros Signs in Barnhart. He was a member of the National Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #1 St. Louis, Missouri, Farmington ELKS Lodge # 1765, the National Rifle Association, and a long-time member and the current secretary of the 67 Gun Club. Bob was a Christian and a member of the Roman Catholic faith. In his spare time he enjoyed target shooting, camping, and hunting. He was also a avid CB radio operator, known by his radio friends as "Hot Shot". Bob will be missed by all those who knew and loved him, including his wife Joyce C. (Knapp) Sliger of Farmington, children Diane Huddleston and husband Lee of St. Louis, Kristi Sliger of Baltimore, Maryland, Don Lanning and wife Diane of Brinktown, Barb Lewis and companion Rick Sinklear of Jefferson City, and Chuck Reeves and companion Gineen Gibson of Park Hills, a sister Betty Kile of Augusta, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A host of other relatives, friends, and neighbors also survive. The family will receive friends 5:30 - 7 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Fr. James Dyer officiating. Burial will be in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery at a later date. Per Bob's request, the family asks please that no flowers or plants be sent, but would suggest memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Masses.
